Map the Evidence Landscape

A scoping review paper provides a comprehensive overview of existing literature on a broad topic by systematically identifying, categorizing, and summarizing available research. It helps researchers understand key concepts, methodologies, and evidence gaps without restricting to narrowly defined questions. This approach is especially useful in emerging fields where studies are diverse, scattered, or not yet suitable for a full systematic review.

This page focuses on guiding researchers through the process of developing a high-quality scoping review paper, from defining objectives to charting data and presenting findings. It supports clear mapping of evidence, identification of knowledge gaps, and effective reporting. Our service ensures structured methodology, accurate synthesis, and alignment with established frameworks like PRISMA-ScR for impactful research outcomes.

The 5-Stage JBI Scoping Methodology

We help define a broad, PCC (Population, Concept, Context) or PICo-framed research question that sets the scope, boundaries, and purpose of the review. This stage also determines eligibility criteria for sources of evidence.

Comprehensive search strategy developed iteratively across PubMed, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, grey literature (WHO, government reports, conference proceedings), and reference lists. Search strings documented for reproducibility.

Title/abstract screening followed by full-text review using Covidence or Rayyan. Two independent reviewers apply inclusion/exclusion criteria; discrepancies resolved by consensus. PRISMA-ScR flow diagram produced.

Structured data charting tables capture study characteristics (author, year, country, design, population, concept, outcomes, key findings). Charts are iteratively refined and shared with you for review before synthesis begins.

Narrative synthesis with thematic content analysis maps evidence patterns, identifies research gaps, and summarises implications. We produce publication-ready manuscripts following PRISMA-ScR checklist and JBI reporting standards.
